Kishkindhapuri Release Date
The film was theatrically released on 12 September 2025 and it entered the Telugu horror film industry. The film directed by Koushik Pegallapati was highly anticipated due to its mythological theme of the film and its supernatural plot. The date of release was well selected to coincide with the festive period thus assisting it to reach more people in the Indian and international markets.
The premiere attracted a lot of attention by both fans and critics as the cast was led by stars such as Sai Srinivas Bellamkonda and Anupama Parameswaran. The fact that it was released when it did made Kishkindhapuri not only a localized project but also a movie with a wide cultural appeal.
Kishkindhapuri Cast And Crew
The ensemble of Kishkindhapuri is living up to the promise of the film especially in the way they influence the mood and tension. Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas is vulnerable as Raghav enough to sympathize with him when the horror strikes. Mythili, played by Anupama Parameswaran further brings in emotional undertones her acts of fear and determination are well deserved. The contributors of the texture are supporting actors such as Makarand Deshpande, Tanikella Bharani, Hyper Aadi, and Srikanth Aiyyengar, though a few supporting roles might have been more profound.

The heavy lifting is done by the crew behind the camera. Director Koushik Pegallapati maintains a balance between supernatural suspense and folklore by flashing on myths without dwelling on them. Cinematographer Chinmay Salaskar is efficient in capturing the creepy areas, deserted ruins, dark corridors, etc.
Niranjan Devaramane editing ensures that the scenes are tight, but the pacing is a bit slow in the first parts. The dread is enhanced by music by Chaitan Bharadwaj (with the help of Sam C S) and sound design without descending into a cliche.
The cast and the crew have collaborated effectively to provide Kishkindhapuri with the greatest asset, atmosphere. With this said, more character development of minor characters and a more consistent pace would have taken the experience to the next level.
Kishkindhapuri Storylines and Plot
Kishkindhapuri starts with a group of ghost-tourists who tour an abandoned radio station in their guided tour. What begins as curiosity later turns out to be dangerous as they end up awakening a slumbering spirit.
As the story progresses, the characters, particularly Raghav and Mythili, are trapped and have to dig out the dark secrets of the station to survive. The first part is quite tense: it is filled with myths, supernatural clues, and suspenseful situations.

The momentum however fails in the second half. Certain plot lines are hastily handled, emotional lines are less persuasive, and the paranormal aspects change in a manner that some critics found to be more expected than startling.
In general, the movie is successful in the atmosphere and mystery, but it lacks depth and cohesiveness throughout.

Kishkindhapuri Budget and Box Office Collections
Kishkindhapuri was made with a budget of approximately ₹25 crore, which included production, cast, crew and marketing work. This was an intermediate investment in a horror movie that relied on mythology to balance scale with content-based storytelling. The film received almost ₹2 crore net in India on its first day of release and this was a sign of a modest beginning. On the opening weekend, the global collections were ₹12.9-13.4 crore with greater momentum in foreign countries and in major cities.
Although such figures indicate that the opening was slower than the opening of big-budget blockbusters, the spooky mood of the movie and the performances of the lead actors created enough hype to keep people interested. To recover, Kishkindhapuri will depend on the regular foot traffic, positive word of mouth and satellite and streaming rights.
Final Word
Kishkindhapuri is a well intentioned effort of fusing folklore and supernatural thrills, backed by dedicated acting and scenic visual effects. The plot becomes stagnant at some points, but overall, the film manages to make a haunting experience to be remembered. It is a good watch to those who want to see a horror drama with some cultural undertones, but not necessarily jump scares, and this may not be the movie that everyone wants to see to get the edge-of-the-seat thrill.
